• MY "ADVICE" FOR 2014

IF you’ve already reflected and written about your goals and priorities for the new year, consider, at least for a minute, adding some of these ideas….

-If I’ve not yet convinced you of the power of meditation or gotten you to learn to meditate, think about putting it on your list of goals. There are very few things I truly consider life changing, and meditation is one of those things!! I have a client who recently attended a week long meditation workshop and would probably be happy to show up at your home to testify to the amazing benefits that continue to unfold from the experience!……and you don’t have to go to a workshop. You can learn from listening to CD instructions. You can also just call me. I’ll be happy to teach you.

-If you don’t exercise on a regular basis, think about adding some kind of movement to your routine. Run, race walk, take a yoga class, try pilates. The issue is moving your body. It’s one more amazing thing for stress reduction. In fact, combining meditation and exercise can be life changing.

-Consider writing in a journal on a regular basis. The process of regular reflection on what you are thinking and feeling is a wonderful way to process what’s going on. Sometimes you can truly “write yourself” into a better mood.

-If you decide to write, consider including a gratitude list … identify a minimum of 5 things you feel grateful for. It lifts your mood.

-And to stay on that track, each day, identify 3 things that have gone well — that you feel good about. No matter how simple — for example — my first cup of coffee tasted perfect…. or how complex — the meeting I facilitated went just the way I wanted. The issue is to remind yourself of a minimum of three good things each day. Trust me, it will make you smile.

-Analyze your eating. What can you add or eliminate from your diet that might alter your energy and your health in a positive direction.

-Think of something you’ve been wanting to do that’s a little outside the box for you…and then “go for it.”

-Find an outlet for your creative side — take a sculpting class, join a writer’s group, re-do a room in your house/apartment using colors that are really different…..or anything else that pops into your head.

-Finally, keep adding to this list of ideas….. and if you want to share some of the things you decide to add to your life, just let me know.

MOSTLY make 2014 a wonderful year….. and spice it up with some things that reduce stress, add quality and spice……..Happy New Year!
