• MORE LIFE REVIEW…..

A couple of email questions ask about more ideas for life review….it truly IS that time of year so here are some additional ideas.  They do involve writing.  You can surely tell by now that I believe that keeping a journal — writing about what you are thinking and feeling — can be life changing…so when you combine keeping a journal with regular meditation and then throw in good exercise, you are truly on your way to changing your life!

But back to life review…. try this.

Think about where you were 10 years ago.  It’s the year 2004.

    Where were you living?

What was going on in your personal life? Focus on the relationships and the quality of the relationships.  How did you feel about the people in your life?

What was happening in your professional/business/perhaps school life? Again, focus on the quality. Did you like what you were doing or did you feel like pulling the covers over your head and staying in bed each morning?

What were your goals and priorities? The things you felt you focused most on.  The things that were most important to you.

Were there any burning issues in your life? Things that were so important to you that you gave your time or your money or organization skills ….

What was going on with you physically? your health? your energy? your general physical well being.

What was the spiritual dimension of your life like?

Did you feel powerful, in charge of your life?

Now ask all the same questions for TODAY.

Reflect on what has changed in the last 10 years.  What are the biggest changes in your life? Take some time and think about all the things that are different… what you like, what you regret.  Make any notes to yourself so you don’t forget what feels important.

Now take a minute and project yourself into the future with this question.  It’s 10 years from NOW.  What would you most like to be able to say to yourself, about your life, 10 years from now?  Write the first things that come to you.

Now think about what you need to start, one step at a time, to do, to make it possible…..It’s about being in charge….flexing your power muscle…. to be the person “driving the bus” and heading your life where you want to go….

If you want to explore this exercise in more detail, as well as doing more self analysis, it’s in my book RELEASE FROM POWERLESSNESS: TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR LIFE

Hang in there for yourself.  Change is possible!
