• HOW ABOUT SOME SHORT AND PITHY REMARKS?

Once in a while I come across something written in a totally concise and useful way.  And consequently it’s also worthy of sharing…

My source for this is a twitter account labeled Life Advice @ozlifeadvice.  Right now I don’t know who the author is –other than the above information — though I will do a little research!  And you might be interested in the same.

Here are the five basic points made by Life Advice ……………

    HOW TO STOP TIME: MEDITATE

HOW TO TRAVEL IN TIME: READ

    HOW TO ESCAPE TIME: MUSIC

    HOW TO FEEL TIME: WRITE

HOW TO WASTE TIME: SOCIAL MEDIA

Each one of these items deserves several paragraphs.  And, I imagine the most important one at this moment is the last one.  The irony being that I found the comments/ideas ON social media.

But at least ask yourself if you are wasting time on social media.  It’s a question all of us need to be asking.  There is far too much pulling our attention from just being present, mindful, focused in our lives — enjoying the conversations, interactions, intimacy of each and every individual we encounter.  We are losing too much as we focus more and more on phones and computers. Every where you look, there is an increasing amount of information — articles, newly released books, research, commentary — on the damage done by too much focus on some device!

And if you were not on your social media device reading THIS, you could possibly be meditating, reading a good book, listening to music, or writing something profound.  The best thing any of us can do is reflect at a deeper level on the five points made by Life Advice.

    Enjoy the process!
